Prop.65: The Latest Updates the Fashion Industry Needs to Know
- Details
All brands and retailers are familiar with California's Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, otherwise known as Proposition 65. The law requires the State of California to publish a list of chemicals "known to cause cancer or birth defects or other reproductive harm"--and requires businesses to notify Californians about the chemicals in products.
In this webinar, Levi Heath, Partner at Barnes & Thornburg LLP in Los Angeles, and Kendra Lounsberry, Associate at Barnes & Thornburg LLP in Los Angeles, provide a brief overview of Prop. 65, recent developments in the law, trends impacting the fashion industry, and best practices for compliance.
Levi Heath regularly advises manufacturers and retailers regarding compliance with Prop 65 and related consumer product safety regulations, and defends companies in Prop 65 enforcement actions and related environmental matters. Levi also handles a variety of complex civil and commercial litigation, including products liability and toxic tort defense.
Kendra Lounsberry's practice is focused on defending manufacturers, distributers, and retailers in products liability, toxic tort, and Prop 65 litigation.
