Join the Canadian Apparel Federation and United States Fashion Industry Association on June 29 at 2:00 PM EST for a webinar on customs procedures, rules of origin and other elements of the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) Canada-United States Mexico Agreement (CUSMA). The first anniversary of the agreement coming into force is July 1, 2021.
This webinar will review the main elements of USMCA/CUSMA for Textiles and Apparel: rules of origin, certification of origin, Tariff preference Levels (TPL), De minimis shipments, etc.
In particular, changes to apparel rules of origin which take effect July 1, 2021 (origin requirements for sewing thread) and beyond (for certain other trims) will be highlighted and explained with reference to how these measures have been administered in other trade agreements.
The presenters will also discuss actions importers/exporters can undertake to manage compliance verification processes and ensure that the expectations of US and Canadian customs authorities can be met.
The webinar will be presented by two experienced customs attorneys with extensive experience in North America trade procedures and issues:
