First Sale for Export (FSFE) - The Basics

During these difficult financial times, retailers are especially challenged with finding innovative ways to generate cash while reducing cost. For companies that import into the US, taking advantage of the First Sale for Export (FSFE) concept could be a viable option as it provides a unique opportunity to achieve customs duty refunds on previous imports while also reducing duties assessed on future imports into the US. During this webcast, PwC Customs and International Trade team will introduce the First Sale for Export concept, cover the basic operational and compliance requirements that US importers need to fulfill in order to use “first sale” transaction value as the basis for appraisement, and discuss how existing users of the program can expand their FSFE footprint.
