As you're heading back to the office and back to school, it's a good time to take a fresh look at your customs compliance operations. Join the United States Fashion Industry Association (USFIA) and our Premier Partner PwC and Customs Broker Partner OHL for a half-day seminar on hot topics and new ideas on how to save money.
You are welcome to join us for one or both of the following sessions:
Customs Considerations for Apparel Importers into Canada: PwC Tax Partner and National Leader of PwC Canada's Customs and International Trade practice Jaime Seidner will discuss Customs Considerations for Apparel Importers into Canada. Businesses, especially those in the apparel and footwear sectors, cannot afford to miscalculate the customs value or value for duty on their imports. Incorrect calculation of the duties and taxes owed on imported goods can result in penalties under the Administrative Monetary Penalty System as well as retroactive duty assessments. This seminar will outline a proactive approach that will help you mitigate or avoid custom value errors, and enable you to understand priority issues in customs.
TFTEA & De Minimis Increase: OHL will discuss the changes to subheading 9801.00.10 in the Trade Facilitation & Trade Enforcement Act (TFTEA) and how you can take advantage of the increase to the de minimis. TFTEA was signed by President Obama on February 25th 2016, and over the last six months we have witnessed the roll out and enforcement of this important legislation. In this seminar, we will discuss what these changes are and how your company can benefit in a compliant manner. We will also discuss what questions we still have as a broker, and the clarity we continuously seek from U.S. Customs.
This seminar will be eligible for CCS credit through the National Customs Brokers & Forwarders Association of America (NCBFAA).
This seminar is intended for brands and retailers. This is not a networking event. If you are not employed by a brand, retailer, or importer, you are welcome to register for the waitlist. We will open registration to the waitlist by Tuesday, September 6th if space is available.
