Supply Chain Due Diligence is Here to Stay: What Fashion Brands Need to Know About the NY Fashion Sustainability and Social Accountability Act and the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act

Registration is closed for this event
Hosted by USFIA and Arent Fox

In light of increasing consumer demand for more “sustainable” apparel and footwear, many fashion brands have launched fashion lines with environmental, social, governance (ESG) initiatives in mind. However, recent legislation aims to compel the fashion industry to expedite the pace of their ESG initiatives, specifically with respect to labor and environmental impact. The proposed New York State Fashion Sustainability and Social Accountability Act (Fashion Act) and recently enacted Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA) impose new supply chain diligence requirements on fashion companies that may change operations globally.

Arent Fox Partner Angela Santos and Associate Christine Hintze will discuss the Fashion Act supply chain mapping and disclosure requirements and the UFLPA forced labor import restrictions, as well as how fashion companies can prepare and take a risk-based approach to complying with the new requirements.
