just-style: Maintaining global value chains key to NAFTA renegotiation, USFIA

Any efforts to make it more difficult for the U.S. to source apparel from Mexico and Canada will encourage sourcing from other parts of the world, former US Government apparel trade negotiator, David Spooner, has told the NAFTA hearing.

Speaking on the first day of the hearing for the modernisation of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), Spooner, Washington Trade Counsel for the United States Fashion Industry Association (USFIA), said a well-functioning Western Hemisphere supply chain is vital to maintain American jobs at home, as well as employment in the region.
