United States Fashion Industry Association (USFIA) members are committed to sourcing and manufacturing at the highest standards. They are industry leaders in terms of developing and maintaining business operations that are not only compliant with global standards, but also ethical—from the cotton field, to the textile mill, to the apparel factory, to the retail store. The committee is currently co-chaired by Macy’s Merchandising Group.
On July 12, 2017, USFIA launched the Social Compliance & Sustainability Committee with these primary goals:
- Compile resources to help all companies, regardless of size or budget, respond to challenges more efficiently. We launched on July 12th with a set of executive summaries of key focus issues
- Map supply chain relationships, particularly hot spots for compliance issues as well as audit best practices and resources.
- Tell the story about the good work already done by the industry to influence policy and public opinion.
- Build upon the existing work and resources and continue to bring about positive change.
Committee Composition: USFIA leadership, partners, and representatives from USFIA Brand/Retailer/Importer and Associate Members
