But leave your apparel and footwear imports behind, unless you can meet the new regulatory requirements.

After years of contraction and dire economic results in the domestic apparel and footwear industries, Mexican Government Authorities have recently take aggressive action aimed at turning that tide. Effective March 1, 2015, all importers of footwear and apparel products will be subject to stringent new rules including a Sectorial Registry registration requirement for importers without which imports may not be allowed.
