The Coalition of New England Companies for Trade, a regional trade association for importers, exporters and service providers to those companies, will host a Footwear, Sporting Goods and Toys & Games Classification Seminar on June 3, 2014, at the Henderson House in Weston, MA. 

9:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. - Footwear

CONECT President Bette Little of adidas Group will chair the event. Robert Silverman of Grunfeld, Desiderio, Lebowitz, Silverman & Klestadt LLP, an Associate Member of USFIA, will moderate a discussion with Stacey Kalkines, U.S. Customs & Border Protection's National Import Specialist for Footwear, who will cover topics including waterproof vs. protective footwear, how to identify Zois footwear, foxing and foxing-like bands, sports vs. athletic, outer soles and US Note 5, and more.

Noon - Lunch with Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) 

Jason Twitchell, Product Safety Investigator with CPSC, will provide an overview of CPSC, how CPSC works with CBP on port surveillance, detention, and more.

Afternoon - Sporting Goods, Toys, & Games 

Marilyn-Joy Cerny of Cerny Associates will moderate a discussion with U.S. Customs & Border Protection National Import Specialist James Forkan. Alex West of Hasbro will provide the importer's perspective.
