On April 27th, 2015, the Embassy of Italy in Washington, D.C., will host a workshop on fighting counterfeits.
The event will take place from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM at the Embassy of Italy, 3000 Whitehaven Street, Washington, D.C.
Following a welcome by Ambassador Claudio Bisogniero, the event will cover new trends and threats, actions and policies taken by the United States and Italy, the experience of the private sector, operational tools and the law enforcement approach, and time for Q&A.
Key speakers for the fashion and apparel industry include George York, Deputy Assistant U.S. Trade Representative for Intellectual Property; John Stewart, Senior Manager of Asset Protection for Luxottica; Ana Hinojosa, Deputy Assistant Commissioner for U.S. Customs & Border Protection and Head of the Joint Operation "Dolce Vita"; and Alan D'Ambrosio, of DLA Piper and the Italian Trade Commission, discussing protection measures for Italian luxury brands in the United States.
