KnowTheChain released their Good Practice Guide 2024, a resource for companies and investors that analyzes what strong corporate practice and disclosure looks like for upstream supply chain human rights due diligence. The Guide draws on data KnowTheChain has collected over the past eight years in three sectors, including 65 companies in the apparel and footwear sector that were interviewed during the 2022/2023 cycle. The Guide provides both big picture data about how many companies in the Apparel & Footwear, Food & Beverage, and ICT sectors have adopted a certain practice and concrete examples of steps that companies can take on some of the most critical aspects of due diligence to address forced labor risks in their supply chains. There are individual sections on Board Oversight, Supply chain Traceability and Transparency, Risk Assessment, Purchasing Practice, Living Wage, Recruitment Feeds, Freedom of Association & Collective Bargaining, Monitoring, Remedy, and Training and Capacity Building to Cascade Standards.
