Today, September 15, 2026, is National Voter Registration Day, the nation’s largest nonpartisan civic holiday dedicated to helping every eligible American register to vote. The official website includes resources and links for getting registered or helping others register. USFIA Member Levi’s is involved in the campaign at local community colleges, according to the official press release:
At 15 community colleges, students are also marking the day through Project HOPE, a nationwide public art initiative created by National Voter Registration Day and artist Corie Mattie, known as the LA Hope Dealer. Students and community members are transforming campus spaces with temporary art built around the words “HOPE,” “LOVE,” “JOY,” “CARE IS A VERB” and “VOTE IS A VERB.” Participants will complete each installation by adding a flock of doves and will be able to register to vote on site.
Project HOPE is supported by the Levi Strauss Foundation, with campus microgrants provided separately by Levi Strauss & Co. In the 2020 presidential election, the national voting rate among community college students was nearly 10 percentage points lower than the rate among students at four-year universities. Closing that gap is a key pillar of Levi Strauss & Co.’s Community College Commitment, which works to increase nonpartisan voter participation among community college students.
