Next week, the United States Fashion Industry Association (USFIA) and many of our members will participate in New York Textile Week, which includes both important industry events like Texworld USA as well as new opportunities to discuss the industry’s need to innovate.

From July 21-24, 2015, the first-ever NYC Textile Week will take place at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center and other venues. Established by an alignment of textile and fashion trade shows, including Texworld USA, Kingpins Show and MRket, this is a must-attend event for fabric buyers, research and product development specialists, designers, merchandisers, and sourcing executives.

From July 21-23, the 19th Texworld USA will highlight sourcing opportunities from around the world. You’ll meet manufacturers from Asia, the Middle East, and North America, and find new sources of apparel fabrics, trims, accessories, and more. We’ll be walking the show floor on Thursday, July 23rd, so let us know if you’ll be there!

If you’re visiting Texworld USA, we encourage you to stop by the booths hosted by PROCOLOMBIA, USFIA’s Sourcing Supporter for 2015. You’ll find duty-free products at booths L2231, L2233, L2229, L2227, M2326, M2328, and M2330. Colombia has more than 100 years of experience in manufacturing textiles and apparel, and with the U.S.-Colombia Free Trade Agreement, your products will enter the United States duty free and quota free. These financial incentives, along with Colombia’s technology-savvy, flexible production companies, make Colombia an attractive partner. “Colombia is the ideal textile, fashion and apparel source for the U.S, with a complete package offer, as well as, trims and textiles for underwear, swimwear, sportswear and uniforms,” said Maria Claudia Lacouture, President of Procolombia. She notes that you’ll also be able to find Colombian fashion brands and designers at Texworld USA and other upcoming events, which are described below.

You also don’t want to miss Lenzing Innovation, featuring 27 mills from China, Korea, Taiwan, and the United States showcasing creative fabrics and garments containing fibers of Lenzing, another USFIA Associate Member.

Other important events during NYC Textile Week include Kingpins, an invitation-only denim show and seminar series founded by USFIA Associate Member Olah, Inc., and the Ideas for Change Conference, featuring several speakers (including USFIA President Julia Hughes!) on the need for innovation in the industry.

If you want more from Colombia, in addition to Texworld USA, PROEXPORT will participate in several key trade shows around the globe, including:
