As you may have heard by now, USFIA’s Customs Broker Partner goes by a new name! Last year, GEODIS announced the acquisition of OHL, and this month, the rebranding was finally completed. The acquisition adds to GEODIS’ portfolio of services and geographic scope, and enhances its position as a leading, global 3PL. USFIA is excited to continue to work with our contacts at GEODIS to provide our members with up-to-date news and analysis of critical customs and logistics challenges.

Who is GEODIS? GEODIS is a top supply chain operator both in Europe, and the world. The international reach of GEODIS includes a direct presence in 67 countries, as well as a global network of over 120 countries. With 5 Lines of Business—Supply Chain Optimization, Freight Forwarding, Contract Logistics, Distribution & Express, and Road Transport—GEODIS manages customer supply chains by providing end-to-end solutions enabled by over 39,500 employees, its infrastructure, processes, and systems.

“The acquisition, the integration, and now rebranding of OHL is a critical step toward our plan to be the global growth partner for our clients,” said Marie-Christine Lombard, CEO of GEODIS. “Customers demand a market leading set of solutions on a global level. As OHL is now GEODIS, we provide that global platform to serve our customers in EMEA, Americas, and APAC. With our broad portfolio of services, we are very excited about what we can do for our customers,” she added.

“From the very beginning, the merger with GEODIS made a lot of sense," said Randy Tucker, CEO and President of GEODIS Logistics LLC in the USA. "Many of our U.S. customers have asked us in the past to expand our service capabilities to Europe and Asia. Now, as one company with expanded capabilities to leverage across the globe, we can quickly help our U.S. customers expand into new markets.”

“Integrating and rebranding OHL as GEODIS is a continuation of our investments in making our services more attractive and enhancing our value proposition,” continued Lombard. “The unified portfolio and the one unique brand of GEODIS, is also an important reflection of our mission—to help our clients succeed by overcoming logistical constraints. Our vision is nothing short of acting as our customers global growth partner wherever they need us to be—EMEA, Americas, and APAC,” she added.

If you haven’t yet gotten the chance to meet GEODIS, you’ll hear from them at the 28th Apparel Importers Trade & Transportation Conference on November 9th, when Mary Jo Muoio, Senior Vice President of Trade Services, will conduct a Q-and-A with Todd Owen, Executive Assistant Commissioner at the U.S. Customs & Border Protection Office of Field Operations.
