From USA-ITA OFF THE CUFF May 2012 (Volume 3, Issue 5)
USA-ITA is pleased to announce not only our new Membership Coordinator, Jana Kalish, but also the 2012-2013 Board officers and three new Board members!
First, we'd like to welcome our new Membership Coordinator, Jana Kalish. Previously, Ms. Kalish worked in the marketing and membership services department at the Personal Care Products Council. At the Council, she worked on the international Certificate of Free Sale program, the Cosmetic Science EXPO, and various other marketing and membership activities. Before joining the Council, she held several internships, most notably as the marketing and circulation intern at the Healing Lifestyles and Spas Magazine. Ms. Kalish graduated from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where she studied marketing and graduated with magna cum laude honors. On April 19th, the USA-ITA Board of Directors met in Washington, D.C., our first meeting of the year. First, we elected our officers for the 2012-2013 year:
- Chair: Maureen Gray, Vice President of International Trade, Ralph Lauren Corporation
- Vice-Chair: John Clark, Vice President of Michar LLC
- Treasurer: Michael Singer, Director of Customs & Social Compliance for Macy’s Merchandising Corporation
- Secretary: Janet Ydavoy, Vice President of Customs Compliance & International Operations for The Jones Group. Janet was newly elected to the Board this year, although she served on the Board previously. She will also continue her post as Chair of the Membership Committee.
Congratulations to our officers, and thank you for your continued service to USA-ITA! We also elected two additional directors to the Board: Sonja Chapman, Director of International Traffic & Customs Compliance for Golden Touch Imports, and Jim Schwartz, President & CEO of Mast Global Fashions.
We had a productive day of meetings discussing USA-ITA business as well as trade policy strategy, and we are very excited about the year ahead.
