From USA-ITA OFF THE CUFF April 2012 (Volume 3, Issue 4)
As the ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) region continues to see impressive growth of apparel exports--along with many important trade developments within and outside the region--USA-ITA was an eager guest at a meeting of members of the Source ASEAN Full Service Alliance (SAFSA) on March 27th in Hong Kong.

L to R: Damien Chia of Ralph Lauren Corporation, USA-ITA Chair Maureen Gray of Ralph Lauren Corporation, and USA-ITA President Julie Hughes at the SAFSA Member Conference in Hong Kong
SAFSA is an organization representing fabric mills and garment factories from Southeast Asia and the global brands and retailers, including many members of USA-ITA, who source apparel from the region. USA-ITA President Julia K. Hughes was a speaker at the meeting and delivered key updates on the U.S. market and advances in the negotiations of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), and presented revealing analysis on the market demand and prices of goods in the markets ASEAN factories serve.
SAFSA is an initiative of the ASEAN Federation of Textile Industries which is a member of USA-ITA. You can become a part of SAFSA by contacting Mr. Michael Blakeley, Executive Director, at
