Today is the fiftieth anniversary of the first Earth Day! While normally we would all be planning to be outdoors this week, 2020 is something very different. So we want to share with members some virtual Earth Day events.
Check in at the Earth Day website for some options.
Here are a few ways USFIA Members are celebrating Earth Day:
- Ralph Lauren launched their Earth Polo Campaign, each shirt is made with 12 plastic bottles and dyed using a no-water application.
- Levi Strauss and Co. is encouraging consumers to celebrate Earth Day in a variety of different ways.
- Eddie Bauer is sharing their commitment to the CanopyStyle Initiative and their partnership with the Bluesign System.
- American Eagle Outfitters introduced the Real Good Collection and partnered with One Tree Planted to donate 5,000 trees.
We also encourage you to join this Earth Day at Home event sponsored by the National Academy of Sciences and the Climate Music Project. Former USFIA Board Member Laurie Goldman is working with the Climate Music Project and is one of the speakers at this event.
Happy Earth Day to everyone!
