Trade groups the American Apparel & Footwear Association, the National Retail Federation, the U.S. Fashion Industry Association and the Retail Industry Leaders Association sent Lighthizer a letter on Tuesday asking that the administration "ensure that renegotiation will 'do no harm' to the successful supply chains that we rely on today," according to Bloomberg.

"Any improvements should provide for seamless integration with the existing NAFTA agreement," the letter said.
